I, like Manny, think it is foolish to be against Israel. God’s covenants are everlasting.
So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel (face of God): “For I have seen God face to face, and my life ispreserved.” Genesis 32:30.
Preserved, shamar; Strong’s # 8104: To guard, keep, protect, preserve; watch over, care for, safekeep. First mention appears in Genesis 2:15, where Adam was to tend and keep the Garden of Eden. People have been instructed to guard the covenant, the Sabbath, or the Commandments (Gen. 17:9; Ex.31:14; Deut. 28:9).
The participle shomer means “guardian,” or “he who watches,” that is, a watchman or shepherd. The Lord is called “shomer Yisrael,” the “One who guards Israel”; This Keeper never slumbers and never sleeps, but is always on duty (Ps. 121:4).
It would be wise to not forget who guards Israel.
Amen! 1 Chronicles 16:16,17.
“The covenant which He made with Abraham,
And His oath to Isaac.
“He also confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel as an everlasting covenant…”
Very fitting verses for those of us who are friends of Israel.
