This is the first time that I’ve ever used two of Deborah Ann’s poems back to back. Her words are based on scripture, scripture that holds many promises. This is why I appreciate Deborah’s poems so much.
I asked the Lord,
what will be my loss
if I daily . . .
picked up my cross.
He said to me,
here’s what it requires
but first you must die
to all selfish-desires.
All your dreams,
ideas and plans
must be placed now
into My hands.
Then you will need,
to follow Me
so I can lead you
to where you should be.
All your possessions,
all that you own
you must leave behind
yes, even your home.
You must give up,
family and friends
your bank accounts
and stock dividends.
I asked the Lord,
what will be my loss . . .
