Thanks for this interesting post Chris. It brought back memories of discovering the ruins of an old Methodist church in a town near where I live. When I researched it, I discovered that Adan Clarke had laid the Cornerstone in 1811. He was born in Northern Ireland where I used to live.
You’re welcome, Elizabeth, and thank you for sharing this information that I was not aware of. I don’t have his Bible commentary in book form but it is nice that it is free online. He certainly had many interesting things to say! He must have been a great scholar. Wiki says that:
“Hebrew, Syriac, Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit, and other Eastern tongues, with the literature which they represented, being among the subjects of his study.”
