I would like to thank my neighbor, Tom Overton, for posting this on his Facebook page twice recently. He commented “Time again to put a smile on your face” with his last posting.
Thank you, Tom. It did just that.

Over 20 posts in one week? Would you believe I have others waiting in line? It has been a great week of learning for me, not only here but on Facebook and at the schools I service. There won’t be a recap of all that was covered.
I’ll wrap it up with one of the “Jokes of the day” which I tell my students.
What do you get from a pampered cow?
May God bless you and yours…

With all of the serious issues on the plate lately, I wanted a bit of levity. Hopefully this’ll work.
In truth, these are minonkind but humans act just like ’em at times. I’ve always been competitive but my understanding of scripture has improved over the years and it has caused me to see competition in an entirely different light. All Christians are running a race. The writer to the book of Hebrews states:
“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
If you are a Christian, you understand the difference between the world’s race and the Christian’s race.

BTW…I’ll take any of you on in a game of ping-pong any day.
The week began with a wonderful celebration of the event that saved the world. I posted this in a futile attempt at getting a tiny glimpse of God’s glory:
It Features the Johann Strauss Orchestra and the Harlem Gospel Choir. Next, I posted this:

One of my “jokes of the day” that I share with my students:
What do you call a sleeping dinosaur? (A Tyrannasnoreus Rex)
Then there was this:
Top row: Haeckel’s drawings of several different embryos, showing incredible similarity in their early ‘tailbud’ stage.
Bottom Row: Richardson’s photographs of how the embryos really look at the same stage. (From left: Salmo salar, Cryptobranchus allegheniensis, Emys orbicularis, Gallus gallus, Oryctolagus cuniculus, Homo sapiens.)

Every so often I’ve got to find something sweet. I think MAKING FRIENDS accomplishes this.
Finally, I thought I should mention that The Jesus Movement is going just as planned.
YOU CAN SEE A FEW OF MY THOUGHTS ON THE JESUS MOVEMENT HERE.
I hope you had a great week.
God’s blessings…

It’s so nice to be in contact with Barbara Anable once again. She sent me this and I had to put it up. As Barbara said: “This is an amazing and beautiful video!” How can one watch this and not think of our wonderful Creator God.
This video made me think of THIS ARTICLE CALLED “Secrets from the Most Distant Galaxy.”
Enjoy both.

VOICES FROM THE PAST
I spent most of my week in two area schools. I enjoyed my week as I worked with K-11th grades.
The joke of the week has two answers, one that came from my source and a better one that came from a student.
Why was the math book sad?

Source: Because it had so many problems.
Trevor (10th grade) He bought a ticket for the rhombus.
I hope you all have a blessed week in the Lord.
