Quotes #24…Thomas Brooks 1608-1680

A quote by Charles Spurgeon about Thomas Brooks’ writing:

“Brooks scatters stars with both hands, with an eagle eye of faith as well as the eagle eye of imagination”.

  1. Thanks for both these quotes, Chris… inspiring and true!

    Thanks for the quotes by AND about Brooks!

    As far as Brooks’ quote, I know from myself and from what I observe of others that with our good deeds, reciprocation or some other kind of benefit is usually expected.

      You’re welcome, Tom, and thanks for your comment. Your comment about reciprocation is so true in our world today. Our dear old human nature…it dies so slowly.

    Brooks and Spurgeon are right

  5. I especially like the Brooks quote; it’s very reminiscent of Isaiah 64:6.

  6. Chris's avatar Chris says:

    “For all of us have become like one who is unclean,
    And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment;
    And all of us wither like a leaf,
    And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.”

    Thanks for sharing, Keith. They are similar for sure! 🙂
