…………………………..I heard about this at Pastor Silva’s informative website called Appraising MinistriesHere is his take on this new “Bible.”  And here is where you can see how Amazon described this “gay Bible.”

Here is part of the book description:

“The Queen James Bible seeks to resolve interpretive ambiguity in the Bible as it pertains to homosexuality: We edited those eight verses in a way that makes homophobic interpretations impossible.”

In other words, the Queen James bible (can’t use the capital B anymore) has found a way to explain away the (at least) 8 places where the Bible says that homosexuality is a sin.

I was listening to a roundtable political discussion on TV the other night and the consensus seemed to be that, with cases pending at the Supreme Court, gay marriage will eventually be the law from coast to coast as it is in Canada.  They (conservative and liberal) all thought the Defense of Marriage Act will be gone soon.

There is a higher court than the U.S. Supreme Court.

It is not on planet earth.

Christians are to love the sinner and hate the sin.  We are all sinners, but we are not to continue in a sinful lifestyle.

Here are four verses that will have to be explained away:

  • Lev. 18:22, “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female;  it is an abomination.”
  • Lev. 20:13, “If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie  with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely  be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them”
  • 1 Cor. 6:9-10, “Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit  the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters,  nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the  covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the  kingdom of God.”
  • Rom. 1:26-28, “For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions;  for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the  woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing  indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their  error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer,  God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not  proper.”

I found these four verses in a good essay on homosexuality by Matt Slick here.

This “bible” is another sign of the times in which we live.

Thank God for His unconditional love.  It is a love that can release us from the bondage of sin.

Well the deceived brethren are busy rewriting the Word of God to fit their agenda, “In the land of fruits and nuts where women are women and men try to be.” Spoken by a native San Franciscan me.

It would seem that we have a fresh wave of “antinomianism.” These folks take Romans 6:14 and run with their wrongheadedness. They erroneously interpret this verse to mean that it does not matter if Christians(so called) disobey God’s moral commands, because they are no longer “under law.”

1 Timothy 4:1,2.speaks of their apostasy. Departing from the faith:they have apostatized, They are deceived and are teaching doctrines inspired by Satan; hoping to lead astray careless leaders. They pretend divine inspiration and in abandoning God’s Word they have become insensitive to spiritual truth.

According to Wiki, antinomianism is known as anarchism in the political realm. Not good. If moral law is of no use or obligation because faith alone is necessary to salvation, then I can do whatever I want and still have my mansion in the sky. By the way, I plan to be hanging around the “river of the water of life” by the trees whose “leaves are for the healing of the nations.” (Rev. 22:1-2)

The verses you mention in Timothy are so appropriate here. It is possible for a person to have their conscience seared “as with a branding iron.”

A homosexual lifestyle is one of bondage. It is my prayer that homosexuals will turn from their sin and find real freedom in Christ’s redemptive power. Unfortunately, this “bible” is another sign that sinful lifestyles are becoming more accepted in our day.

Always a blessing to hear from you my friend…

      One more thing…

I spent a few years teaching at a Christian School in S.F. in the early 80’s. One day, AT THE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, I was “asked out” by a guy who came to make sure the fire extinguishers were working properly. I guess he didn’t see my wedding ring. Maybe he did and it didn’t matter. My shocked reaction of “I’m married” resulted in him disappearing instantly. My shock was related to the days of my childhood, when homosexuality wasn’t even discussed. It is sad how quickly things have and are changing.

Queen James Bible is detestable an to God, did lesbian and Gays society consider this words from Revelation 22: verse 18 -19 when they were amending/ replacing some words in the bible. ( 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book)
Remember, God hate sin ( homosexuality ), not homosexual people, why did gays and lesbian society pray earnestly for the divine Intervention before changing/ writing their own bible? I believe earnestly there is power in an earnest pray, God can perform miracle to change genetical build up if you feel that God has made a mistake, 2 Chronicles 7:14
King James Version (KJV) said that …
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

      Dear Anonymous,

The Revelation verses you have quoted are also ones I have considered. I would not want to be responsible for any of the changes in this “bible.” You have a concern for homosexuals. I think that is admirable. Many have come out of the homosexual lifestyle by the grace of God. I only wish they would all change and seek God’s will in their lives.

      God’s blessings…
