15 After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying,
“Do not fear, Abram,
I am a shield to you;
Your reward shall be very great.”
2 Abram said, “O Lord God, what will You give me, since I am childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “Since You have given no offspring to me, one born in my house is my heir.” 4 Then behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; but one who will come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir.” 5 And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” 6 Then he believed in the Lord; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness. 7 “
The covenant between Abraham and God consisted of three separate parts:
1) the promised land.
2) the promise of the descendants.
3) the promise of blessing and redemption.
I don’t agree with the politics of some of the speakers at this event, but I appreciate their willingness to speak out in support of Israel.
It says something that this event had so much security. How did this happen in America? I hope all Christians get back to reading their Bibles. As I’ve asked so many times on this blog: “How can God bless a people who turn their backs on Him?”

You are welcome, valenciartist. I saw something yesterday that insinuated that Israel was responsible for starving people in Gaza. How can Israel be blamed when it’s the terrorists that have caused this situation. I know that Israel is a secular and imperfect country but that doesn’t mean that the covenant between God and Israel has suddenly disappeared.

You are very welcome and many blessings. I have always been a supporter of Israel and I am sickened to see how here in Europe every morning on the news they only focus on supposed deaths caused by the IDF in Gaza. Do not they know that Israel built Gaza?
Thank you. I remember when Israel gave Gaza to those people. The Israelis who had lived there left hydroponic gardens among other things which the new occupants subsequently destroyed. I will never understand that. I was against that land being given away in the first place.
