EVANGELICAL DECLARATION ON GLOBAL WARMING

PREAMBLE

As governments consider policies to fight alleged man-made global warming, evangelical leaders have a responsibility to be well informed, and then to speak out. A Renewed Call to Truth, Prudence, and Protection of the Poor: An Evangelical Examination of the Theology, Science, and Economics of Global Warming demonstrates that many of these proposed policies would destroy jobs and impose trillions of dollars in costs to achieve no net benefits. They could be implemented only by enormous and dangerous expansion of government control over private life. Worst of all, by raising energy prices and hindering economic development, they would slow or stop the rise of the world’s poor out of poverty and so condemn millions to premature death.

I found this Declaration at Dr. E. Calvin Beisner’s CORNWALL ALLIANCE WEBSITE.

YOU CAN SEE THE REST OF THE DECLARATION HERE.

I have endorsed this Declaration. The Cornwall Alliance, in my opinion, is the best source of information on this topic from a Christian perspective. I am not posting this for endorsements or financial support. I am posting this because there is a lack of education within Christian circles on this subject.

It’s so interesting where God leads His people. I remember a young Mr. Beisner sitting next to Walter Martin and defending the great truths of the Bible. He was very young back then. He was brilliant then and, again in my opinion, he hasn’t changed and is doing very important work.

Tomorrow I will put up a post about the new movie “Noah.” It comes from the Cornwall Alliance.

  1. Calliope Grace says:

God said that in the end times the poor would rise and the rich be taken down. This is prophecy. True science actually will always point to God. Even the one who got paid to write the ‘Big Bang’ theory retracted his admissions years later and said “only God could have created the world” and admitted to being paid to write his first observation. The retraction was never put into our schools texts books. Please read also in your studies…Science, According to Moses by Dr. Thomas Sharp. A brilliant man who traveled to many nations and taught on this topic. Even got the attention of “heads of state’ behind the Iron Curtain.

    • Chris says:

It’s so nice to have you comment, Calliope. “True science actually will always point to God.” Amen. Amen. Amen. The more we learn the more we learn we don’t know. Things are far more complex than we could ever imagine. I have never found a book that proved scientifically the theory of Darwinian evolution. I will look up the book you have shared with me. It sounds very interesting.

      God’s blessings…

I also remember Mr. Beisner from his work with Walter Martin. i miss Dr. Martin on the original “Bible answer man.” we were fortunate to have some great apologists and the good work continues.

    • Chris says:

Dr. Martin was a brave man. He told the truth and that offended many. No political correctness in his vocabulary. I went to see him once where his discussion was to be on Mormonism. We had only been seated a few minutes when someone announced that the session had been cancelled and would be rescheduled. I later learned that there was a bomb threat that caused us to have wait months before he got back our way. We met at the same church and Dr. Martin thanked the local authorities for checking the facility for any explosives. I taped his talk that day. It is on cassette somewhere in my “archives” (I have no clue where it is) and, if I ever find it, I’ll post it. Every Christian should have Dr. Martin’s “Kingdom of the Cults.” I cut my teeth on that book long ago and my son now has a copy.

      God’s blessings my friend…
