Latest on the Origin of Life Research 2024

Once again, I’m publishing the best video of 2024 that I could find regarding Origin of Life research. And once again, the well known chemist, Dr. James Tour is it’s creator. I’ve watched the entire thing twice now and appreciate all of it but if you want to cut it short a bit start at 22:00 minutes.

If you have not heard of Dr. Tour, you can get an idea of his accomplishments here.

Thanks for this video, Chris! I’m not a science guy, but I found the presentation fascinating. Evolution has no explanation for the origin of life or anything else.

You’re welcome, Tom, and I’m glad you had the same response that I did. In high school, chemistry was the last thing I wanted to take and never did. I don’t understand all of this but one gets the idea of how far away scientists are from understanding how life originated. Young earth creationism is probably the least popular view about how we all got here but it’s my position and has been for some time. Dr. Tour rarely mentions Darwinian evolution but there are very smart people who are questioning it these days. I used to frequent on-line discussions about evolution and most of the time the discussion devolved to an argument complete with name calling. Once the name calling started, the debate was over. I never saw one person change their views over such discussions so I no longer visit those discussion sites. I do keep my eyes on the latest in evolution and I watch debates that I find are civil. One of my favorite YEC is Dr Jonathan Sarfati, PhD and Dr. Robert Gentry is another.
I recently watched a debate between two Christians titled: “Does the Bible Teach Animal Death Before the Fall?” Apolojedi takes the position that animals did not die before the fall and I agree with him. This was a civil debate and, interestingly, Apolojedi (Matt) has a wordpress blog that I’ve subscribed to. After watching Dr. Tour’s video, I certainly don’t expect you to watch this one but I’ll post it here for anyone interested:

Thank you for your comment, Tom. I admire Dr. Tour for the great knowledge that he has but perhaps more because he has not been afraid to enter the discussion. He has plenty of other things to do but he can’t help but see all of the misinformation being fed to the general public and, with what he knows, he feels he has to try and help the average person know where we are when it comes to understanding where life came from.
He can get by with this where many scientists with lesser credentials wouldn’t dare enter the fray because of their fear of reprisals. No one questions Dr. Tour’s position in the scientific world. Still, he has experienced the downside of entering the fray in several ways.

      God’s blessings my friend…
