COMFORT

“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve, as do the rest who have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep.

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, and remain until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep.

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and we shall always be with the Lord.

Therefore comfort one another with these words.”

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

My belief grows stronger with each passing day that it is possible that I will be alive when these 2000 year old words come true.  In either case, whether alive or dead at the fulfillment of the prophecy, the words bring great comfort.  I hope they have the same impact on you.

    Hi Chris!

“…we shall always be with the Lord.

Therefore comfort one another with these words.”

Absolutely these words have the same impact. Thank you!

    • Chris says:

      Hi Dawnmarie!

So glad you stopped by. I didn’t bother trying to find a picture to match the words. I don’t think one exists.
I hope all is well with you and yours.

      God’s blessings…

So there you are (and hello to Dawn too)!

Wonderful, beautiful words of Life. I so look forward to living in a glorified body to be forever dwelling in the presence of our Lord.

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God…

What a day of triumph that will be!

    • Chris says:

Amen Pearl! What a day of triumph that will be!

I would never put a date on His coming, per his words.

I am not certain of the timing of this event (pre, mid, post).

But he did tell us to “watch.”

The latest natural disasters, along with comparisons to prophecies about the state of man in the last days, make me think we might experience this great event while living (Also…one can hope for the “pre-T”).

The world is groaning and I need words like these.

When and how God decides it should all transpire does little to blunt the comfort in the words.

Just thinking about our “new” bodies makes my mind spin. Can it possibly be true?

Of course it is true because God’s Word says it is true.

      Always a blessing, Pearl.
