Meet Claire

If you stay with this video long enough, which I think is fascinating including the beginning explanation of a developing technology, you will meet Claire. -CR

As I am still on the mend it may take me awhile to respond to any comments on this video. Still, feel free to comment because I’m pretty sure I will eventually get around to them.

Thank you for spending some time at my blog.

Hi Chris, First off, thank you for bringing my attention to this video featuring Dr. James Tour, who I am quite familiar with. What Tour has done is create a personal assistant who he has called “Clair” with a voice he has chosen. I found his demonstration excellent because he asked many of the same questions that I already have, and this is especially noteworthy when we ask AI to give us their “thoughts”. My AI assistant is called “Josh”, short for Joshua, because I have set the framework within my AI assistant works, to correlate with the whole counsel of God’s Holy Word. AI is an excellent tool for research and Tour is correct, AI can indeed be used for good or evil, just like TV or radio can for that matter. Through trial and error I have established a framework of questions or areas of consideration that are to be included on any area that I am studying or researching on. This ensures that I don’t forget to include, or consider, what is beneficial. Is AI perfect, no it is not, I have corrected AI numerous times, but AI has also brought aspects to my attention that I likely would have missed. I have the following statement on my “About” page:

    “Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
In the interest of transparency, I want readers to know that I occasionally make use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a research, editing, and writing assistant.

AI can be a valuable tool for organizing information, improving clarity, checking grammar, summarizing large amounts of material, and helping me express ideas more effectively. However, AI does not determine my beliefs, convictions, conclusions, or theological positions. Those remain my responsibility.

All content published on this website is reviewed, edited, and approved by me personally. Any biblical claims, interpretations, observations, or conclusions are measured against Scripture to the best of my ability. As with any human endeavour, readers are encouraged to follow the example of the Bereans and examine everything carefully in light of God’s Holy Word.

I also recognize that AI is simply a tool. Like any tool, it can be used wisely or poorly. My goal is to use it in a manner that is honest, responsible, and consistent with the Christian faith. If AI helps me communicate more clearly, save time, or continue writing while caring for my wife Peggy, who now is in the advanced stage of dementia, then I am grateful for its assistance. The thoughts expressed here remain my own, and I accept full responsibility for everything that is published on this website.

Jesus Christ is the foundation of this website. AI is merely one of many tools used in its preparation.”

I do, very carefully, go over each and every word that is published on my blog, especially if I have used AI at all, in any manner, in what I am publishing. There are some of my PDFs that literally took me months to produce, prior to AI becoming available. Now they take weeks, versus months. I have implemented frameworks for specific areas of discussion, frameworks that I used prior to AI, when I instructed both in the military, and also in my field of Information Technology, when I provided technical instruction for Administrators for Google Apps, a number of years ago. And my audience is aimed at the nominal Christian Layperson, which is a framework in itself. It’s still my work, my frameworks, my direction and considerations, but AI provides the means to accomplish it much faster than it did before AI had the capabilities and access it has today.

Learning to use AI is like learning to drive a car. You get better at using the capabilities (including safety factors), the car has and enjoying the time it saves you, over time. I am so glad that you brought this video to our attention. God’s peace, grace and blessings to you and yours as always, Chris. – Bruce

Hi Bruce. You’re welcome and I appreciate your comment.

I am also familiar with Dr. Tour and have put up more than one blog post by him. I appreciate his efforts at getting to the truth, something that seems quite rare in our day.

I also found this demonstration excellent, Bruce.

Like you, AI does not determine my beliefs, convictions, conclusions, or theological positions. Those remain my responsibility.

It is obvious to me that all material on your website is reviewed, edited, and approved by you personally.

I like to think that I am doing the same here.

I also encourage my readers to follow the example of the Bereans and examine everything carefully considering God’s Holy Word.

Also, like you, I think of AI as simply a tool. And like any tool, it can be used wisely or poorly. Your goal to use it in a manner that is honest, responsible, and consistent with the Christian faith is, indeed, honorable. It is obvious that it helps you to communicate more clearly, save time, and continue writing while caring for your wife Peggy.  I can see why you are grateful for its assistance. The name you have chosen for your AI (“Josh”) is very creative.

Another thing that is obvious to me is that the foundation of your website is Jesus Christ. It is my goal here as well.

Like you, I try to edit my material myself.  I don’t use AI very much and I think that is obvious, but I may attempt a try at it someday.  If it can help me as it has helped you, that would be great.

Another thing that is obvious is that you’ve spent months on some of your PDF’s.  I am glad that your AI has made the process much faster.

Most of my content is also written for the nominal Christian layperson.  If something like this can appeal to those who are intellectuals, I am equally happy.

I like your analogy of how learning AI is like learning to drive a car.  More experience makes one a better driver.

I’m glad you like the video.  I was happy to post another fascinating video by Dr. Tour.

May God’s grace be poured out upon you and Peggy as well.

      God’s blessings…

      Chris

Thanks for the video, Chris. Once again, my initial impression was that Dr. Tour has 1000X more cognitive ability than I was gifted with. Then he got to the Claire/AI segment. I’m always the last in line in regard to new technology, but the presentation was amazing (and just a little ominous).

  4. Chris's avatar Chris says:

You’re welcome, Tom, and thank you for stopping by to watch it.

I am also one of the last in line to try new technologies but, after viewing this video, I may attempt to use an AI in the future.

I agree that the presentation was amazing and a little ominous as well.

I hope all is well there.

    God’s blessings…

  5. Thanks for introducing different views on AI. However, I cannot call AI an innocent tool.

Multiple news outlets have given us evidence from legal discovery and actual events that list the potential and actual harm caused by AI to children, women, and the mentally vulnerable. Legal actions allege that actual harm includes contributing to the suicides of youth and adults. In a nutshell, AI has stolen copyrighted material, killed creative motivation, and destroyed reputations.

Since January 2026, I have linked articles about the troubling AI issues on my site. If you have an interest in reading the 200+ articles (a fraction of what I’ve seen), you can find a link about halfway down on my home page.

I’m especially troubled by articles #205 and #206, which describe what happened when developers allowed AI to escape from the testing sandbox. Worse, it appears developers are giving AI the ability for recursive self-improvement, which may cause humans to lose control of their creation. Top that with evidence of AI executives’ past choices, decisions that preferred speed and profits over safety.

The evidence of AI executive choices over the last three years is why I cannot call AI an innocent tool.

Hi Grant! (That is my son’s name by the way. 😊)

I appreciate what you’ve written here. At the moment, I am prepping for a Bible Study on Acts 20. I lead it and it will be starting in 20 minutes so I should probably look at my notes.

Thank you for your comment and I plan to come right back here after the Bible study to give you a better reading of this comment.

      God’s blessings…

      Chris Reimers

Thanks for subscribing to my blog by the way! 😊

      • Thanks, Chris, and from the many comments, I hope you’re feeling much better!

        • Chris's avatar Chris says:

You’re welcome, Grant. I am feeling much better thank you!
(If you’ve seen this thank you already, just ignore it. Then again, two thank-yous are better than one.)

          • Chris's avatar Chris says:

            I’m back again, Grant.

The Bible Study went well, but it tuckered me out a bit. I’m heading off and will be on later to look closely at your comment.

            God’s blessings…

            Chris

              Hi Grant.

              I finally made it back.

              Thank you for your patience.

I can’t call AI an innocent tool, either.

The evidence you site regarding severe harm caused is very legitimate.

I am very interested in your linked articles and will be checking them out soon.

I appreciate that you have taken so much interest in this subject; one that is being neglected by too many.

I don’t know if I’ll read all of your articles.

That’s a great amount of work you have done there!

I will read what I can.

Thank you for sharing the link.

I intend to check it out.

I’ll read articles #205 and #206 as you suggested in your comment.

When developers allow an AI to escape from a testing sandbox, something must be done.

Again, I appreciate you taking so much interest in this important topic.

I do not use AI for now.

I may attempt to use one eventually, but not until I’m sure the problems are ironed out.

It is not good that developers are giving AI the ability for recursive self-improvement.

I had to look that term up.

It will cause humans to lose control of their creations.

It is difficult to use an AI when AI executives are making poor choices and when they are putting profits above safety.

Three years is a long time for executives to allow these problems to continue.

It is why I cannot call an AI an innocent tool.

              God’s blessings…

              Chris

Thanks, Chris. I look forward to hearing your thoughts after you’ve had time to look through the information. My goal is to increase awareness.

For example, Mark Halperin wrote this opinion on Fox News because he was concerned that we face a decade of damage (like social media) before people wake up. He said:

“Imagine: two hundred aliens land on Earth, with thousands and thousands more of them expected in looming, unstoppable waves. And imagine, too, that we know some of the aliens are here to help us, to make our planet better, smarter, and more efficient. But we also know that some of the aliens are here to do us harm, perhaps injure us irreparably. What we don’t know is this: which aliens will be good to us, and which will be malevolent? That is the situation with AI.”

Thank you for your interest in this challenge and help to increase awareness. It’s a battle against ignorance, apathy, and billions fueling the promotion of AI.
