“Every once in a while a storm comes along that is so big, it even looks
impressive from space. Hurricane Sandy has grown to be an enormous mass of wind stretching nearly 1,000 miles across at times.”
So says Wired Science which has a great deal of information on the storm here.
Why such a storm now? Anyone have an opinion?

Thanks to Barbara Anable for sending me this link showing some of the damage this storm caused.
i think Satan as the god of this world can certainly twist things to his sick ways. But we of the Body of Christ should be praying (Eph. 6:12) that these twisted storms would fizzle out and not cause the loss of lives and destruction that they do.
I do not believe God brings these things as punishment against the horror he sees in the earth. The east coast is not more sinful than the midwest or the west coast. The whole country is sick for sure.
911 proved this out for a few months people sought God, after a while right back to the sewer. Thank God for His grace We as christians do not have to live in a sewer.
It is a difficult question; one that I don’t have definite opinion on. Thanks for sharing your view, Manny. It is thought-provoking.
There are those who take another view. I have a book by John P. McTernan entitled “As America Has Done to Israel.” He takes the view that God has caused certain catastrophic events to happen to our country in response to our government’s lack of support for Israel. He ties actual catastrophes to decisions made at the highest levels of our government; decisions that were made against Israel. It is an interesting book.
Mr. McTernan mentions nothing about Satan being involved in such events. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t think that it doesn’t happen. But he is only one man.
I think there are three possible views on the topic and I think it is possible that each happen at various times. Some events may be caused by evil forces. We know that the “whole world lieth in wickedness.”(1 John 5:19) The verse that precedes this one speaks of our protection. Some events may be caused by God to try and wake us. Third, there is the weight of sin on the world. Isaiah 51:6 says: “And the earth will wear out like a garment And its inhabitants will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not wane.” The weight of sin could be causing the deterioration of the creation as God intended it to be.
I don’t think I’ll have the answer to this one until I’m in a much more glorious place.
