I recently stumbled on THIS ARTICLE and found it very interesting.  The article took me to ANOTHER ARTICLE  that I found equally educational.  Here is one quote from the latter:

“…we see new forms of ‘Christianity’ rising all around us  — flexible, evolving models  shaped to fit both the global quest for connectedness and the personal quest for  ‘feel-good’ experiences.  Naturally, the same process is also squeezing witchcraft, Buddhism, moderate (not militant) Islam, and even Satanism into its universal mold.”

I agree with the material in both articles.  They were written by Berit Kjos.  You may see her bio HERE.

When I joined a church a few years ago, I was asked about my favorite Bible verse.  It changes from time to time.  As a youth it was Matt. 6:33.  The pastor read my verse to the church:

“…we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:10-12

I was going through a very trying ordeal at the time and felt that much of it had to do with the powers to which this verse refers.  I can still remember the reaction to the verse as it was read.  Maybe it was what I was going through, but I got a sense of “That’s his favorite verse?”

Thankfully, I don’t feel the principalities I thought I was sensing then.  However, I believe the world is becoming a darker place every day.

And thankfully, I have read the last three chapters in the Bible.

Hope reigns.

The reality of these articles is shocking—most people mentioned are Christians or at least raised in Christian homes.

    • Chris says:

      So true, Manny.

Christian homes are no longer as common as they once were. Values and virtues are becoming a thing of the past. So many “Christian” young people are reading books and watching things that depict evil. Magic spells, zombies, werewolves, etc. are popular. Werewolves and zombies have been around for years, and magic spells are certainly nothing new. We are now seeing a level of exposure to this sort of thing that may exceed anything in world history.

We must teach our kids God’s Word; otherwise they are lost. It is startling how little of The Word our young people know.

It is a bit scary, but we have a God who sends demons into pigs. God’s power is supreme and “He shall reign forever and ever.”

      God’s blessings…

  2. Just take a look at the really popular Hollywood movies (actually, don’t 🙂 ), many of them have occult subjects, like the Twilight series, vampires, ghosts, and hideous things to give teenagers nightmares…

These dark principalities that Paul talks about gain access to people via these movies, and it is so sad to see Christians going to them…

    • Chris says:

      Spot on, Delight.

Hollywood has become a market for evil, and it is a sad thing that Christians watch the stuff to which you refer. Movies with occult themes are common these days. “As it was in the days of Noah” is a phrase that comes to mind.

One wonders just how long God is going to put up with the wickedness in the world. I think we are already seeing God at work. He is not pleased.

      Thanks for commenting.

      God’s blessings…
