Compromised Preachers Take Note!

October 13, 2013

Manny has shared a story of two folks who choose to take a stand for righteousness. Decisions like this one seem to be moving closer to Americans. In fact, they are already here. May God give us the strength to act like these two wonderful Christians…

Here is a heart warming video about two focused Christians who have done no wrong and suffered persecution for it. This is the typical in your face attack against Christians and their faith. Please note the calm and focused responses from this beautiful couple. The interviewers tried to make the husband respond to their baiting, I love the way he responds.  The beauty from within shines forth like cracked-pots, allowing Jesus to shine from within. Bless them dear Lord.

THE THRONE OF DAVID

By Henry Morris Ph.D.

“And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.” (2 Samuel 7:16)

No other ordinary human being, not even the greatest of men, was ever given a promise like this promise to David. It can be understood, however, when one realizes that David is a type of Christ and that, in terms of His human genealogy, Christ did indeed inherit the right to David’s throne. As the angel Gabriel told Mary: “The Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever” (Luke 1:32-33). The coming Messiah is identified as this promised Son of David in the Old Testament prophecies (e.g., Isaiah 9:6-7).

HOPE

October 8, 2013

“There are many persons to be found who are bowed down with despondency of spirit, and cannot lift up themselves to enjoy a comfortable hope.  Let such take heart from the case before us; and let them also remember that the Lord does not now forget the sorrowful and broken-hearted.  We see this expressly stated in:”

Isaiah 49

13 Shout for joy, O heavens! And rejoice, O earth!
Break forth into joyful shouting, O mountains!
For the Lord has comforted His people
And will have compassion on His afflicted.

Promise to Zion

14 But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me,
And the Lord has forgotten me.”
15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child
And have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.
16 “Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;

PSALM 83 AND THE UPCOMING MIDDLE EAST WAR

I think Bill Salus MAY be onto something.

PSALM 83 AND THE UPCOMING MIDDLE EAST WAR

I have to admit that Prophecy in the News has some strange speakers at their prophecy conferences.  However, I’ve never seen Gary set a date and many of his guests contribute some thought-provoking ideas.

BRILLIANT BUTTERFLY FEATURE CHALLENGES DARWINIAN SELECTION

September 23, 2013

By Brian Thomas, M.S.

How do butterfly’s wings shine? Like almost all other butterflies, the Morpho has wings covered with scales. Typically, pigmentation patterns across these scales generate wing colors, but a Morpho‘s scales deploy an additional feature.

On top of their scales, Morpho butterflies have countless tiny, tree-like structures with suspended branched arms that manipulate light waves. Spacing among the branches helps match targeted light-wavelengths, like blue for example. Repeated reflections of the same wavelength cause interference effects that, when viewed from certain angles, generate stunning iridescence.

I look Up to God

Another sign of the times from Delight in Truth’s blog…

Erin Shead Assignment About God

The class assignment at Lucy Elementary in Millington, Tennessee  was to write about an idol.

Erin Shead is a 10-year-old Christian who picked God as her model and proceeded with the above project.  She wrote:

“He will always be the #1 Person I look up to”

“I look up to Him because He put me on this earth”

“I love Him, and Jesus is His earthly Son.  I also love Jesus”

Delight in Truth is very proud of this young Christian who knows correct doctrine and is not ashamed of it in a world which is unfriendly to Christians.

How unfriendly, you ask?

Her paper was rejected by the teacher. Erin was told that she is prohibited to choose God for her assignment, and to take the paper off school property.  I would not have been surprised at all if this happened in communist Romania where atheism was the law…

SUKKOT 2013

September 20, 2013

Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot)

By: David Soakell CFI UK

Throughout Israel this week, (September 19th – 25th) the people are celebrating Sukkot or The Feast of Tabernacles.  (Leviticus 23:33-43)  At its most basic level, Tabernacles is a celebration of the abundance of God’s blessings in connection with the ingathering of the Autumn Harvests.  It is also a memorial to the Exodus, when the Jews wandered in the wilderness, living in tabernacles or booths (temporary dwelling places) en-route to the Promised Land.  Could this remind us that we are also in a temporary dwelling?  In 2 Corinthians 4:18-5:2 we read, “Fix your eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.  Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling…”

Many Christians also celebrate this Feast and some believe that this is the correct time of Jesus’ birth when He came to “tabernacle among us [Immanuel].”  If so, He would have been conceived around Chanukah/Christmas [the light of the world?].  Chanukah of course means the festival of lights and Yeshua (Jesus) is the Light of the world. Add nine months from Chanukah and you will roughly come up to the Feast of Tabernacles. According to all natural laws, the Israeli’s should have perished in the wilderness, but were instead divinely protected by God. Tabernacles, is therefore a representation of faith in God’s protection and promises.

As the Nation of Israel continues to face a time of uncertainty, may we pray that the Lord would protect His people and tabernacle with them.

I would like to thank my missionary friend who is heading back to Israel for sending this to me via email.

PEACE THROUGH PREVAILING PRAYER

September 10, 2013

“I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.” {#Jer 33:3}

There are different translations of these words. One version renders it, “I will shew thee great and fortified things.” Another, “Great and reserved things.” Now, there are reserved and special things in Christian experience: all the developments of spiritual life are not alike easy of attainment. There are the common frames and feelings of repentance, and faith, and joy, and hope, which are enjoyed by the entire family; but there is an upper realm of rapture, of communion, and conscious union with Christ, which is far from being the common dwelling place of believers. We have not all the high privilege of John, to lean upon Jesus’ bosom; nor of Paul, to be caught up into the third heaven. There are heights in experimental knowledge of the things of God which the eagle’s eye of acumen and philosophic thought hath never seen: God alone can bear us there; but the chariot in which he takes us up, and the fiery steeds with which that chariot is dragged, are prevailing prayers. Prevailing prayer is victorious over the God of mercy, “By his strength he had power with God: yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spake with us.” Prevailing prayer takes the Christian to Carmel, and enables him to cover heaven with clouds of blessing, and earth with floods of mercy. Prevailing prayer bears the Christian aloft to Pisgah, and shows him the inheritance reserved; it elevates us to Tabor and transfigures us, till in the likeness of his Lord, as he is, so are we also in this world. If you would reach to something higher than ordinary grovelling experience, look to the Rock that is higher than you, and gaze with the eye of faith through the window of importunate prayer. When you open the window on your side, it will not be bolted on the other.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-92)
