I love Alistair Begg’s mention of the trinity in his clip! He packs so much into 6 minutes! When I was attending U of Maryland classes while we were stationed in Berlin (84-87) I was in a speech class and had to present a ‘persuasive’ speech, as well as other styles.
I used the bridge diagram and talked about it as objectively as possible, mentioning that the Bible was the ‘source document’. I didn’t preach. You could hear a pin drop.
The Romans Road clips were well done. The RR was explained, and not just blurted out.
The Spurgeon clip’s focus on the issue of sin was excellent! The issue of SIN in the eyes of God is missing in much of evangelism today, IMO.
I appreciate your comment, Dan. I don’t know how Alistair Begg was able to get so much into such a short video either. His sermon last Sunday was called “Biblical Worldview” and I thought it was well prepared and eloquently spoken. Here is the link in case you are interested:
I don’t know if you are familiar with Dr. James Tour, one of the greatest chemists in the world today, but he was saved when a young man shared the bridge diagram with him when he was in college. If you will start at about 6:30, you will see some of his testimony. This version doesn’t mention that the young man who shared Christ with him also used the bridge diagram. This video of Dr. Tour gives you an idea of who he is although it is a video from eight or more years ago.
Here is a video about his recent involvement in the Origin of Life controversy. You may not be interested in this, Dan, but maybe someone who might read this comment would be. This video is more recent than the one above and starts with his testimony:
Sorry about the rabbit trail there, Dan. I’m glad you liked the Romans Road clips and it is certainly the truth that the issue of sin as God sees it is missing in so much of evangelism in our times. Charles Spurgeon is one of my favorite preachers of the past. He would have been shocked to see how so many of our protestant churches have gone off of the rails.
Thankfully, there are many faithful Christians who believe the simple Gospel message that is found only in the Bible as you well know.
Chris, I hope you don’t mind but I put one of the gospel videos on my SALVATION page. Thanks for all the work you put into this gospel feed. Blessings, Sue
