The Latest in Origin of Life Research 2023

Before the end of the year, I want to make sure I share this video with you. A challenge has been given to the ten greatest origin of life researchers.

Anyone who questions Dr. Tour’s experience only need look at his impressive biography:

I look forward to seeing how or if the greatest origin of life researchers respond.

Chris Reimers

(I’ve just finished watching this for the 2nd time and I think Dr. Tour does well here.)

I watched about three minutes. It really boils down to a useless presentation, which really answers nothing. For none of that is needed. The only question which needs to be answered, where did those chemicals come from in the first place? The only answers those simpletons and gullible folks, the origin of life researchers, could come up with, from nowhere. Yeah, a big bang…once upon a time. How can you reason and discuss science with someone called a researcher, who is relying upon magic for their answers?

      Hi eldermike547,

I don’t know how you could come to the conclusion that this is a useless presentation in just three minutes. I thought it was very helpful in exposing the lengths that some origin of life researchers go to to prove that life came from literally nothing.

I do think, like you, that these origin of life researchers do need to tell us where these chemicals came from in the first place.

It will be interesting to see if any of these well-known OOL researchers respond to Dr. Tour’s challenge. If they do, I will be happy to report their comments on this blog.

      God’s blessings….

(BTW…check out Mr. Tour’s Bio. It is pretty impressive!)

Well, I don’t think, in the long run it is really helpful, for all have seen this kind of proof offered over and over from these kind of “researchers.” I have watched many so-called science presentations, and thus, in three minutes I knew what the end would be.

Now, let me also say, I like science, and I am glad there are those like Dr. Tour, which can answer those kinds of challenges. So, in one respect, you are correct. I am sure for some, maybe many, this would be a very good and useful video. And it may be just what someone needs to hear. So, I guess, I have to say; “I hate it when I am wrong.”

But my points are still valid. One man is dealing with science, and those origin “researchers” are starting with magic – once upon a time, long long ago, in a galaxy far far away, a tiny speck of matter popped into …

          Hi eldermike547.

I appreciate your comment, but I think the presentation is very helpful. I have also watched the back and forth in this debate over the past several years and it has been very entertaining and enlightening.

I am also glad there are guys like Dr. Tour out there who can answer these kinds of challenges. I don’t think you are wrong. You are only giving your opinion.

It is unfortunate that Dr. Tour has had to deal with guys like “Professor” Dave Farina.

“Dave Farina has a BA in chemistry from Carleton College and an MA in science education from California State University, Northridge. After years of teaching chemistry in the classroom, he turned his attention to science communication in 2015, focusing primarily on his YouTube channel Professor Dave Explains.”

Farina has 2.6 million followers on YouTube compared to Dr. Tour’s 93 thousand. If you saw their debate, it was a trainwreck. You can watch the debate here if you are interested:

Dr. Tour will not debate Mr. Farina again because he feels that Mr. Farina doesn’t have the qualifications to merit a repeat. So, he has offered this challenge in the attempt to further the conversation.

I will be following any answers to Dr. Tour’s challenge and will post them here on this blog.

I hope you come along for the ride, eldermike547. That is, if there are even any attempts at answering the challenge given.

          God’s blessings…

I have written a book dealing with those kinds of folks such as Dave Farina, who think magic and evolution is science. You might want to check it out. “Reindeer Don’t Fly: Exploring the Evidence-Lacking Realm of Evolutionary Philosophy.” You can buy a copy, paperback or hardcover. Or email me and I can let you read a PDF.

Hi to anyone reading this post. I’m only commenting to widen the thread as it was getting pretty thin.
