Belonging to two evolution/creation debate forums on Facebook, I have posted materials like this. In previous discussions with evolutionists on a liberal “Christian” website, The Institute of Creation Research was well respected even by Theistic Evolutionists. ICR is a creationist website that promotes the young earth position. Those of you who have read this blog know that I am a young earth creationist. One unbeliever accused ICR of using only materials from their own sources. If you look at the footnotes of this article only 1 of 5 comes from a creationist friendly source. In spite of what some of the evolutionists say, I think there is ample evidence for a young earth. In the end, I believe the creation account by faith. That doesn’t mean that I think we can’t see God in the world around us and in His wonderful creation.

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED The 1930′s 40′s, 50′s, 60′s and 70′s.
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn’t get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking. As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren’t overweight because WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo’s, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms……….WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend’s house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them! Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn’t had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever! The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL! You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good. And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were. Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn’t it?!

Born in 1958, my childhood was much like the one described here by Susan. I spent hours on my green stingray bike and we did all sorts of things similar to the ones mentioned in article above. 1962 was the year that prayer was removed from our public schools by the Supreme Court. Growing up in California, I never heard a Christian prayer in class. I am blessed to have had a wonderful childhood, however. I wish I had a picture of the tree house that my Dad and I made in our backyard tree. I added the “burglar alarm” which was quite dangerous. One of the three ladders needed to reach the 2nd floor of the tree house was from an old pool. It had metal rungs. I unfastened one of the rungs, tied a string to it, and a few pulleys later a water bucket would spill onto a metal “runway” and douse whoever might still be clinging to the tree. I usually kept my “trap” safe by keeping the bolt in the side tied to the string. A neighbor almost feel out of the tree one day though.

But if those rocks are truly 3.0 to 3.5 billion years old, the meager solar energy delivered by the younger Sun at that time would have prevented algae or any other life form from growing.”
In the end, as I’ve mentioned many times, my faith is based on the Word of God. However, it is always nice to have evidence to show that fossil algae are not 3.5 billion years old and fit a young earth scenario well.
The Air Force Academy is considering dropping the phrase “so help me God” from its oath after atheist Mickey Weinstein and his Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) filed a complaint.
The Academy’s oath is: “We will not lie, steal or cheat nor tolerate among us anyone who does. Furthermore, I resolve to do my duty and live honorably, so help me God.”
Academy Public Affairs Director Maj. Brus Vidal said that “at present, the phrase ‘so help me God’ remains as part of the oath. Vidal told the Air Force Times they could: 1) make no change 2) make the God part optional or 3) strike the entire oath.”
My brother graduated from the Air Force Academy. He is a Christian who worked hard to get into the academy. It took him an extra year of diligent study after high school to get accepted. My family had no special political connections. My brother had to earn his recommendations with his own efforts. The neighborhood knew that my brother was preparing for something as he woke early in the morning, put on his heavy army boots, and ran through the streets of West Covina, California. I always admired his ability to run the endurance races (cross-country). I think the fastest I ever ran a mile took 7 minutes.
When one individual can file an email complaint about this subject and have Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson respond to it in just over an hour, there is a major problem. According to the article, The Superintendent told “Weinstein immediately (that she) had a poster that contained the oath removed from a prep school wall (at his request) and that the Academy would consider removing ‘so help me God’ from its oath.”
At this time of year, I should be putting up something about the scary nature of our world as Halloween approaches. I submit that this article is evidence that another frightening event seems to be occurring at one of the greatest military training institutions in this country. What could be more scary than that?
How do butterfly’s wings shine? Like almost all other butterflies, the Morpho has wings covered with scales. Typically, pigmentation patterns across these scales generate wing colors, but a Morpho‘s scales deploy an additional feature.
On top of their scales, Morpho butterflies have countless tiny, tree-like structures with suspended branched arms that manipulate light waves. Spacing among the branches helps match targeted light-wavelengths, like blue for example. Repeated reflections of the same wavelength cause interference effects that, when viewed from certain angles, generate stunning iridescence.
There are so many reasons why we have gotten away from the truth of God’s Word. The Evolution issue is a big one.
My son worked very hard in high school to get his college tuition minimized. He is in his freshman year and is taking a Biology and Physiology class. Here are a few of the chapter titles in his text:

“The Evolution of Animals”
Chapter 14 ( a favorite number of mine) begins with “The Origin of the Species.”
Anyone who has read this blog knows where I stand on this issue. The Bible says that “God created the heaven and the earth.” I believe it by faith. I also believe there is a great deal of evidence to back this belief. Evolutionists may not always admit it but they must come to their THEORY with a great deal of faith. This video shows several Biology students being asked very simple questions that they can’t answer. When they do answer, they have not really dealt with the issue.

I had it here, but I don’t feel right about showing an entire movie without those who have worked so hard on it getting something from it. We need to give our young people the facts and let them come to their own conclusions. Listen to some of the students in the first video. They sound brainwashed to me. I think that man knows that there is a God, but rebellion closes one’s eyes to the truth.
