Truce? 11/27/12
November 27, 2012There are so many different views about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. I have been Watching Prophecy in the News for quite some time now and I always like to hear what Gary Stearman has to say. He is a Bible scholar, in my opinion, and he relates what is happening in Israel to scripture in a way that’s easy to understand. Some of his guests have ideas that I don’t agree with and I don’t come as firmly down on a pre-trib view as Gary does. I find him to be a humble man with great knowledge. This doesn’t mean he is correct in his views, but I like his manner and what he has to say always interests me. In this short podcast, he explains why Israel is so important and points out some of the latest developments in the Middle East.

The Role of Human Government
November 14, 2012Jimmy DeYoung is a prophecy teacher whom I listen to once in a while. The man knows his Bible. I agree with much of his take on government here. I’m not so sure about his view of Daniel 7 and I am surely not certain that the “false church” will be headquartered in Rome, Italy.
It is clear there will be a “taking away” event. Many call it the rapture. The main reason I believe in this event comes from the words of Jesus in Matthew 24. I hope that Mr. DeYoung is right about the possibility of the rapture happening at any time. I agree with him that there will be a 7 year tribulation and a Millennial kingdom. I lean towards the pre-trib view of the rapture but don’t hold a solid position on the topic.
With the recent events in the Middle East, those of us who are interested in Bible Prophecy are watching the events surrounding Israel closely.
God has made a commitment to the people of Israel.
“The Lord Jesus is called ‘shomer Yisrael, the one who guards Israel’; this Keeper never slumbers and never sleeps, but is always on duty. Psalm 121:4.”
May God Bless the descendents of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

What My Muslim Friends Believe and the Hajj 2012
October 27, 2012Yes, I have Muslim friends. They think I am lost and I think they are lost. Volumes have been written on the differences in Muslim and Christian beliefs. I am going to focus on a major difference. It is a distinction that has implications that affect our world today.
First, I believe that many Muslims are peaceful. If it were not true, how could it be that so many live among the Jews in Israel?
Second, they are not saved. Their view of Jesus is too different from the Biblical view.
Third, there are many fanatics in all belief systems. Unfortunately, Muslim fanatics are becoming a larger segment of the religion’s population. I wouldn’t be offended if someone called me a “fanatic for Jesus.” At the same time, I have no desire to kill anyone because of what they believe. It is simply not compatible with Biblical teachings.
Many Muslim fanatics are very violent. A large number want to see the Jewish people wiped from the face of the earth. This brings me to the subject of this post.
Who did Abraham take into the “land of Moriah” to offer up as a sacrifice as God commanded?
According to the Bible, Abraham took Isaac (Gen. 22:2). According to Islam, Abraham took Ishmael.
This difference is one reason for the turmoil in the Middle East.

Today is the last day of the pilgrimage to Mecca in 2012 (Hajj). This is why I am covering this subject. If you are a Christian, please pray for the Muslims. They need the true Savior.

Decision by Netanyahu, Barak to Strike Iran is Almost Final — Israel TV
October 17, 2012“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak have “almost finally” decided on an Israeli strike at Iran’s nuclear facilities this fall, and a final decision will be taken “soon,” Israel’s main TV news broadcast reported on Friday evening.
Channel 2 News, the country’s leading news program, devoted much of its Friday night broadcast to the issue, detailing the pros and cons that, it said, have taken Netanyahu and Barak to the brink of approving an Israeli military attack despite opposition from the Obama administration and from many Israeli security chiefs.”
It is not surprising to me that the mainstream media in Israel is discussing possible military action. Another article I read (link below) details just how many in Israel see Mr. Obama’s talk being only that.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ISRAEL II
September 10, 2012Two years ago, I put together a post entitled “HAPPY NEW YEAR ISRAEL.” It hit my top ten posts last year and has done so again this year. I guess I should probably update that post a bit.
In that first post, I gave a brief history of what this time of year means to Israel. Yom Kippur, the “Day of Atonement,” is perhaps the most important holiday of the Jewish year.
Second, I shared a few reasons why I didn’t think it was a very happy new year in Israel.
Third, I shared a little about the future of Israel.
I will not go back over what I covered in “HAPPY NEW YEAR ISRAEL.” If it is not in “Top Posts” at the right, click on the four words preceding this sentence and you will see how I covered these three items two years ago.
“The custom on Rosh Hashanah is to tell everyone you see “L’shana Tova.” That means “have a good new year.” Rosh Hashanah begins at sunset on September 16, 2012 and lasts until nightfall on September 18, 2012. It is followed by the fast of Yom Kippur and the holiday of Sukkot. This entire period is called the ‘High Holiday’ season.”
So what are the headlines out of Israel in 2012 as Israel prepares to celebrate?

The headlines of the last two days go on and on. If you want to read any of these articles, just click on the one you would like to read. I could have pasted 30 more.
At the end of “HAPPY NEW YEAR ISRAEL” I asked, “What will happen after the war that’s coming?”
“I’ll save my opinion on that for an upcoming post” was my response in 2010. That “upcoming post” never appeared.
I now think that Israel will expand its territory after the coming war. This, of course, doesn’t mean the end of the world’s problems. I think the great tribulation of Matthew 24 will begin soon after the war. What does “soon” mean? You won’t pin me down on that one. A day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day in God’s timetable.
And what about America?
The Bible says that those who bless Israel will be blessed.
Are we blessing Israel? I leave that question to you.
And while you ponder that question, I will wish Israel “L’shana Tova.”

God Was Angry
September 7, 2012This video was made over 2 1/2 years ago. J.R. Church was a wonderful Bible teacher. He is no longer with us, but I have no question as to his eternal dwellings.
Israel is currently having closed meetings among their highest leaders. It is obvious that Mr. Obama plans on not helping Israel defend itself. Israel finds itself in a difficult position. America is in a dangerous situation because our leaders are not blessing Israel.
J.R. says in this video, “You don’t poke God in the eye and get away with it.”
I have one of the two books that J.R. mentions. It is called “As America Has Done To Israel” by John P. McTernan.
Have you heard of the hurricane named he Great New England Hurricane of 1938? “Its effect on the Northeast coast is still visible to this day. It hit Long Island New York with such force that it registered on seismographs from New York to Alaska.”(1) It would be classified as a category 5 hurricane before making landfall as a category 3.
“Siegfried is a legendary hero in medieval German literature. He killed a dragon and bathed in its blood, which made his body invulnerable.”(2)
Did you know that a nazi organization (The Bund) was spread across America with sixty-five chapters of and twenty-eight camps in 1938? The largest camp was similar to Nuremberg (the heart of the Nazi movement in Germany and where the war crimes trials were held after the war), was located in Yaphank, New York, and was called Camp Siegfried. It was a 45 acre compound located about 60 miles east of New York City on Long Island.
“The Bundists (who inhabited this camp) were serious Nazis who went so far as to begin a petition to amend the Constitution of the United States. They wanted Jews excluded from all governmental functions.” (3)
“The Great Hurricane of 1938 went directly over Adolf Hitler Street (in Camp Siegfried). This happened during the time the president of the United States turned his back on Czechoslovakia and the Jews.” (4)

I hope our leaders decide to go back to supporting Israel. If not, the results will be devastating.

“Israel is prepared to live in peace with a Palestinian state, but for peace to endure, Israel’s security must be protected. The Palestinians must recognize the Jewish state and they must be prepared to end the conflict with Israel once and for all.
None of these vital interests, these vital interests of peace, none of them appear in the resolution that will be put forward before the General Assembly today and that is why Israel cannot accept it. The only way to achieve peace is through agreements that are reached by the parties directly; through valid negotiations between themselves, and not through UN resolutions that completely ignore Israel’s vital security and national interests And because this resolution is so one-sided, it doesn’t advance peace, it pushes it backwards.
As for the rights of the Jewish people in this land, I have a simple message for those people gathered in the General Assembly today: No decision by the UN can break the 4000-year-old bond between the people of Israel and the land of Israel.”
