“I sometimes think that the very essence of the whole Christian position and the secret of a successful spiritual life is just to realize two things…I must have complete, absolute confidence in God and no confidence in myself.”

You’re welcome, Eldermike. I have listened to quite a few of them and they are always good particularly if you like an in-depth study on particular verses.
(By the way, I’m 10 more pages along in your book.)
You’re welcome, Elizabeth. I have another friend who has had the flu as well. It sounds like a very rough one. He is on the mend and I hope you will be soon, too!
Amen, Pastor Jim. I think Martyn Lloyd-Jones really thought about this statement. I have never seen a preacher preach so many sermons in a row on only a few verses. In other words, he chose to squeeze as much out of verse as he could sometimes before moving on. For him to make a general statement like this is unique for him at least.
Excellent quote, Chris. I have the MLJ app and listened to several sermons on the armor of God. Very good. You don’t hear his kind of preaching these days, at least I haven’t. Again I am grateful that we have these resources.
Thank you, Cathy. ML-J was a true treasure for sure. I have listened to some of his sermons as well. He was loved by young and old alike. I am grateful for the app, too. What a wonderful resource!

Thank you so much for sharing this inspiring quote, by Martin Lloyd Jones, Chris. It helped me on a morning when I’ve a really bad bout of ‘flu.

Ah, that’s an excellent quote from MLJ. Thanks, Chris!
You’re welcome, Tom!
So true. Trusting God fully and letting go of self-reliance is where real peace and strength come from.
