Empowered Saints

Sherry continues to find these wonderful quotes that may be a bit old to us but they are full of truth and wisdom, something very lacking in our times. It is an encouragement to know the holiness and power of our Lord.

He Hath Said

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. -Ephesians 6:10

With God there is power in the ministry, power in prayer, power in all holy work. We may do a vast deal of work, and yet nothing may come of it; and, on the other hand, we may only be able to do comparatively little, and yet great results may flow therefrom: for results depend not on the quantity of the machinery, but on the presence of the Lord.

Do you not all know persons who are not peculiarly gifted, and yet are eminently useful? You do not remark anything about them that is specially noticeable, and yet their whole career enlists attention by its power. Their words tell, for there is character behind them. A consistent life gives force to a plain testimony. It is not so much what is said as who says it…

All praises to our Beloved Lord! \o/

I schedule these posts up to two months in advance and, sure enough, like this post did, it spoke to my present need. The Lord gives the right scripture verses, also. He is with us and He is our ever present help in times of trouble. \o/

Thanks, Chris, for the reblog! God bless you! \o/

You’re welcome, and thank you as well, Sherry.

I completely understand your comment here and have experienced the same thing so many times. God finds a way to get the right verse(s) to us when we need them.

Thank you for your kind words and may God bless you as well.

Btw…I find your blog very unique. Not only is Charles Spurgeon a great mentor of mine but you have found a way to put his words into sound bites of sorts. Other places have complete sermons which is great and desperately needed. But, your condensation of some of his works is valuable and more appealing to our “bite size” society. I have volumes of C.H.S.’s sermons. I’ll admit that I’ve not finished more than a few of them. It doesn’t really matter with his sermons though as they are so Biblically based. Sometimes just a dab will do ya. This is particularly true of God’s Word as well. 🙂
