The child protection case which is the main subject of the article – that of Ken Joar Olsen and Vibeke Morrissey and their daughter – has been described and discussed on several websites abroad and here. (See below)

This article originally appeared in Norwegian, on 25 May 2018, in Romerikes Blad HERE.

The resignation of CPS leader Arnfinn Heimstad on Wednesday augurs well for the process of developing a better Barnevern in the municipality of Lørenskog. The case which triggered his withdrawal – the child protection case against Ken Joar Olsen and Vibeke Morrissey – was deficient on very many levels. Romerikes Blad has in a series of articles given an account of the inadequate and criticisable casework in this CPS case.

The most criticisable aspect was the way the municipality went all the way in their employment of heavy means without attempting to help and support the parents when their daughter was taken into care on an emergency order in January 2015. In what followed, the municipality ignored information and suggestions from not less than eight experts who all found Ken and Vibeke to be competent parents. Parallel with the outcome in the Ken and Vibeke case, the courts have quashed three takings into care and returned the children to their parents. All after decisions made in Lørenskog. In sum these outcomes are so serious that it was natural for Heimstad to resign.

At the same time it is important to note that making heads roll in Lørenskog has never been the goal. Our primary aim has been to have the injustice to Ken and Vibeke’s daughter remedied, but also, of course, that against the parents. With the CPS and the municipality leadership being so restrictively against opening up for reconsideration and self-criticism, head municipal administrator Ragnar Christoffersen has taken matters in hand over the last weeks.

Necessary changes lie ahead. The Barnevern (CPS) case against Ken and Vibeke will face investigation internally and externally. At the same time, the case is before The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR). The case if far from over; a large sequel which must induce comprehensive learning and change in all of Barnevernet lies ahead. Irrespective of the outcome of such review, the municipality must urgently enter into a dialogue with all child expert personnel who had anything to do with Ken and Vibeke’s case. Between them they possess important proficiency and qualifications, urgently needed to be made use of by the municipality.

While Barnevernet is under fire in Lørenskog, another public service reaps well-deserved honour. Lørenskog’s low threshold ‘Preventive Psychological Health Service’ (Forebyggende psykisk helsetjeneste (FPH)), offering free and fast psychological help for Lørenskog’s citizens, has received the prize of the year for ‘innovation’ awarded by the Norwegian Society for Psychological Science. The service of FPH is monitored through research by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. Added to the fact that the municipality has got this service up and running, it also works. People suffering from anxiety and depression have, according to the Institute of Public Health, obtained better life quality as soon as after 6 – 8 conversational sessions. With this expertise being present within the municipality, it is horrible that the two services did not cooperate in this concrete child protection case. Rather, according to FPH itself and the last two experts Anette Svendsen and Evelin Tjemsland, the CPS was active in Ken and Vibeke not getting necessary help after their daughter was taken into care. This is serious and must be checked up on thoroughly.

With the traumas in mind which Ken and Vibeke have gone through, it would probably have been timely if mayor Ragnhild Bergheim came up with an unreserved apology to the couple as well.

My comment:

This is welcome and encouraging news in the struggle of families who have been devastated by the ungodly actions of the Norwegian Child Welfare Services (Barnevernet). I was not aware of this development and I would like to thank Professor Marianne Haslev Skånland for translating this article and sharing it with me. This is the first occasion involving a Norwegian CPS case, of which I’m aware, where the head of a CPS office has had to resign over the way several CPS cases have been handled by his office. Only God knows how many hundreds of parents in Norway have gotten the same type of treatment only to never have their children returned. This is certainly a step in the right direction but it is one case of so many that must be reviewed!

Here are a few of many articles published here and abroad about this family. To see all of the posts here, just type “Ken Olsen” into the search box on this blog.

Praise God! It appears that Aria has been returned to Ken and Vibeke!!!

May 2, 2018

The news is still sketchy but Professor Marianne H. Skanland has alerted me about more than one article in Norwegian newspapers that seem to verify the headline above. Baby Aria was taken from her parents just days after being born and according to the news articles and Facebook comments it appears that she has finally been returned to her rightful parents.

Aria was born on January 13th, 2015 at 10:53 am. Ten days later the “Norwegian Child Welfare Services” took Aria away from Ken and Vibeke for ridiculous reasons. She has been away from her real father and mother almost 2 and 1/2 years now. Ken and Vibeke have worked tirelessly to retain the rights to their daughter whose name was changed at least twice while in custody (in a foster home somewhere unknown to her real parents).

Thank you to anyone who prayed about this situation. I have put up occasional articles about the Family’s situation and this story is at the top of the three active ones that I have been following for some time. This reunion is not an everyday occurrence in Norway. It is quite miraculous. Ken and Vibeke have been persistent, brave, and wisely restrained in their efforts to get their daughter back. I will post more information here as I know more. There has been so much bad news coming out of Norway that I had to post this a.s.a.p. Today is a day for celebration!!!

The headline is true. Aria has been returned to her parents. Ken has verified it for me in a Facebook comment (see below).

Ken sent this picture to me today…It is a great day!

Conversation from Facebook today:

Ken Joar Olsen:
“Thank you my friend, and sorry that i haven’t informed in English to you all. But between my tears, from all the praise and congratulations the private messages in my inbox. And especially the two princesses demanding me to be a climbing three, a burping station and a sandwich maker. I had a short appointment with the dentist… So now i am using some free minutes whilst they are in the shop, to get out some thank you messages to GREAT people like you that by your support. Forever will be a part of our now huge family and story. So hugs from us, and best wishes to you and yours.”

Chris Reimers:
“No worries my friend. I saw all of the notes of congratulation on a couple of facebook posts and I knew you were busy. Many people have followed your case and the news is gladly received in many countries. I particularly figured that you would be spending some much needed catch up family time.
How cool is it to be a climbing tree?
As soon as the dust settles a bit, maybe you can write something about how this worked out. It will please me greatly to remove your story from “Recent Accounts of Children Taken” on my blog. I am thankful to God for answering our prayers. Have a great day my friend and may God continue to bless you and your family.”

ESCAPE TO DUBAI

April 30, 2018

“In early 2017, a Swedish/Finnish family that once lived in Norway, has now fled to Dubai. Norway’s child welfare services wanted to remove their daughter a second time. Now, they’re fighting to get their rights back. Hear from the mother and her brave 10-year old child as they share their sad story in the linked interview.”
– Step Up 4 Children’s Rights

My Austrian Christian friend, Bjorn Korf, has done a great deal to publicize the sad stories of families being split up without reason by Norwegian “Child Welfare Services” named the Barneveret.

Here the child is interviewed by Marius Reikerås, an advocate for families who have had their children taken by the Barnevernet:

Norway’s Orwellian system of child protection and care

April 17, 2018

Written by Tomáš Zdechovský, a Member of the European Parliament

If I have to talk about Norway’s child protection services, Barnevernet, I admit that I have exchanged my favourite quote: “Believe in victory, and victory will believe in you” for a different one: “A blind person is not the one who cannot see, but the one who does not want to see.”

The case foremost in my mind is of a Czech mother Eva Michalakova, whose two sons were taken by Barnevernet. This was the first case of the state-sponsored snatching of children in which I got involved. Before this I was mostly fighting for the rights of fathers for access to their children after divorce. These fathers had been unfairly deprived of a full relationship with their children, but the case of Eva was far worse. Her boys had been taken on allegations of child abuse that were proven to be false and yet the children had not been returned. Even three years after the allegations were found to be false, Barnevernet refused to return the children.

The unfortunate brothers are till today being brought up separately in two different foster families. Barnevernet claims they are allowed to see each other once a month for a short time. Initially Eva was permitted to see them individually for two hours twice a year. Such visits that took place were under strict supervision and very harsh rules; no physical contact was allowed and use of the boys’ mother tongue—Czech—was prohibited. If she reminded the boys of their nice moments together in the past, the visitation would be immediately terminated.

Later even this meager visitation was cancelled on the ground that the mother had “harmed” the children by going public with the story of their removal. The boys’ grandfather was deprived, even on his deathbed, of the chance to speak to them once before dying. He was not even permitted to contact them via Skype on the grounds that he had shared one of the boys’ illustrations on Facebook, which was said to be “uncomfortable” for the boy. It turned out that even this silly claim was false, as in reality the grandfather had no Facebook account. And there was also no way for him to get an illustration.

Eugene Lukjanenko is Out of Prison…Sends Message to Wings of the Wind Readers

April 5, 2018

(Comment made in the comment section of THIS POST on this blog on April 5th, 2018)

Dear friends! Thank you so much for your ongoing support!

I was released on the 23rd of March. I got my demands partly met due to my hunger strike. I would commend highly Elmley prison officials who did their best to facilitate my son visiting me in prison and negotiating with Medway. So prison officials act as human rights protectors, they simply could not understand why I was imprisoned. I need to be confidential as the process is not finished yet. You know me and my son’s aim is to be reunited. I need now to face consequences of hunger strike. Several medical tests show my body is down. Long term consequences are not clear.

I could definitely survive only with G-D s help.

I have read with disgust the outrageous “comments” of someone whose name is not clear for me- Yolande? The truth is that this person is seriously mentally ill – she even accused me in conspiring to take Prime Minister residence by force! She was sectioned several times. her illness is clearly progressing. I reported her to police, but it appeared she is well known there and was sectioned several times. I would advice her to visit GP and revise her medication. She does not worth to get any attention.

I saw my son recently and we were both very happy.

My gratitude to all!

Thank you, my dear friends!

Eugene Lukjanenko

My comment:

It is so good to hear from Eugene. Back on December 2nd, 2017, I published THIS POST.

I am late in posting information about Eugene’s release but what better way to be able to do it! I have been taking care of my ill mother and, as you might tell by the frequency of recent posts, I have been busy. This is an important story to me, however, and I was so glad to get this from Eugene today. Many of us, particularly my Facebook friends, have been wondering how Eugene is doing. It was very difficult to get much information about his situation in prison but many of us sent emails to let him know we were thinking and praying for him. Some thought he might not survive the dry hunger strike that he decided upon in prison. I encouraged others that I thought he would survive and, indeed and Praise God, he has. I particularly want to thank Laura Tucker for keeping all of us as up to date about Eugene’s situation by sharing anything that she could glean from others.

It is good to know that he was treated well in prison and I’m glad that the reason we haven’t heard much (I have checked his FB page occasionally) is that he is resting to get his strength back.

Thankfully, this story continues even if it is one that has perplexed me from the first time I heard about it. If any of you want to know more, click on the RECENT ACCOUNTS OF CHILDREN TAKEN at the top of this blog and scroll down to Eugene’s story. It needs updating badly but it helps one understand the situation at least.

The Yolande that Eugene is referring to has been asked to no longer comment here. I did some research and found that she was bothering many families with strange accusations. The claims she made against Eugene here were absurd.

I will continue to pray for Eugene and will update his situation here as time allows. He is a unique man who has gone to great lengths to try and retain custody of his son. The reasons the S.S. of England took his son from him are quite incredible.

Over 10,000 Sex Offenders May Get Early Parole in California, Things “Out of Control”

March 1, 2018

My previous post has the youtube video taken down. I had to recheck this story. It is worse than I first thought. What are they thinking in California? If even half of these sex offenders are released earlier than originally planned, there will be those who aren’t in any way rehabilitated. How many will become victims because someone will be released sooner than their original sentence required? My personal opinion is that sex offence prison sentences should be doubled, not reduced.
I will be praying for my family and friends who live in a state that used to be a wonderful place. Sadly, according to this reporter, these offenders can cross state lines. How is Governor Jerry Brown thinking? He will be very unpopular with citizens from other states as the repercussions of this decision may spread afar. This is crazy.

Nightmare in Norway

February 2, 2018

One of the best articles I have read about the child stealing Norwegian Child Welfare Services (Aren’t they supposed to help families?):

Masala chai: Musings about our relationships with little people's avatarMASALA CHAI

How a mother lost her children to the State (and fought to get them back)

We all have very warm associations with the ways in which we were brought up. The meanings of our experiences are so intricately woven around cultural traditions that they are often impossible to fully explain to an outsider. Why something was funny, why another was treasured, why someone was loved and why another was avoided, why some flavours were cherished and some spaces were treasured, these are all the substance of our childhood memories. Yes, many times, not all these experiences are pleasant, but for the large part, we all grow up developing our own unique collection of memories and meanings. These memories make us who we are, as we read in the posts of the last month on the issue of Identity and Selfhood. What happens when we move before our identity is fully…

What is the Barnevernet?

January 18, 2018

NOTE: 2 OF THE 3 EXPERTS SPEAK IN ENGLISH, THE FIRST IN NORWEGIAN WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES

For the past couple of years, this blog has been involved in helping bring awareness to an evil system of “Child Protection Services” in Norway called the Barnevernet.

Sadly, many of the intellectuals in Norway are silent. More difficult to believe, the vast majority of the Christians and Christian leaders are silent. Since these two say little, of course, the vast majority of the media does nothing. Here are a few highly educated Norwegians who understand well what is happening in their country and they are not afraid to talk about it. There is a similar problem in the U.S. but we still have due process for the most part. If parts of the U.S. CPS system ever becomes as much of an industry as the Barnevernet (and some might argue that certain offices already have), I hope a much better percentage of intellectuals come forward in the U.S. than we have seen in Norway.

Lastly, but happily, I am able to note that one of the people so involved in trying to help people see the truth has made more than several comments on this blog. Professor Marianne H. Skanland, featured in this short video, is as well aware of the problem as anyone. After hearing many people speak about the situation in Norway, I feel she has the best view of the situation that I have heard. I have learned a lot from her.

I wish the people of Norway the best. In the video, Marianne notes two positive things that have happened to help those affected cruelly by the Barnevernet. The first is the internet. I wholeheartedly agree with her. This issue is getting quite a good amount of attention online. The second is international protests that have put pressure on Norwegian leaders. Sadly, this has waned in the streets of other countries, but there has been a noticeable increase in social media activity. It has been slow to develop but more people are learning of this problem daily.

Marianne has always warned me that this is a worldwide problem, not just something happening in Norway. She has referred me to more than one good book on “psychology” in America. The book that I read was authored by an American where “the author exposes the misguided beliefs and shoddy practices used by most psychotherapists. He examines the pop psych beliefs and explores the debilitating effects they have on everyone.” (Quote from the Amazon ad) The Entire title of the book summarizes its point nicely: House of Cards, Psychology and Psychotherapy built on Myth.

People in all nations need to be vigilant. Our children’s lives, thus our future, is at stake. Even if this wasn’t a “future” problem, we must be kind enough to treat our children with the dignity and understanding they deserve.

Breastfeeding not allowed? The case of Amy J.

December 21, 2017

Written by Björn Korf

Amy J. is an American citizen who lives in Norway. In July 2013 her worst nightmare began. Without any warning, the Norwegian Child Welfare Services known as ‘Barnevernet’ accompanied by police knocked at her door, saying that her 19-month-old son Tyler had to be taken to a hospital for an examination immediately.

What happened? In the weeks leading up to the taking of Tyler, the young mother was increasingly concerned about the growth curve of her 18-month-old son. Tyler did not yet want to move to more solid food but instead continued to prefer breastmilk. Tyler was Amy’s first child, so she lacked the experience to know that children can develop quite individually. But, being a concerned mother, Amy even took Tyler for medical check-ups three times a month in order to monitor the growth process very closely. Then, came the summer. Amy went on a vacation with Tyler to America for two weeks and visited friends and relatives.

But, as soon as they returned back to Norway, the child welfare service, together with the police came to her house, saying that Tyler must be examined immediately in a hospital. Amy found out later that someone had alerted the youth welfare office in order to maliciously harm her. Being completely overwhelmed by the situation Amy agreed to go to a hospital with them. Also, Kevin M., the Norwegian father of the child came along. At the hospital a doctor diagnosed Tyler as “slightly underweight.” The boy would have had to weigh 10 kg, the doctor said. But Tyler weighed only 9.6 kg, which is actually not a reason for a concern according to the weight charts. The doctor also criticized that Amy was still breastfeeding her son.

Instead of offering advice to improve the nursing, the employees of the child welfare office now wanted to intervene on the basis of the medical diagnosis and remove the child from the mother. This led to a verbal confrontation which the father filmed with his smartphone. It’s a scene that can now be found on Youtube. “When will I see my son again?” Asked Kevin M. “We cannot tell you that yet,” replied one of the employees of the child welfare office. Finally, Kevin was ejected from the hospital as the argument got louder and louder.

What followed next was like a scene from a Hollywood movie. Kevin went back to the hospital and put on a doctor’s outfit. In disguise, he was able to go to room where his little son Tyler was taken in the meantime. He took his son unnoticed, left the building in a hurry, and drove around the area aimlessly, knowing that these might be the last moments with his son. Finally, he was stopped by several police cars. One police officer on the roadside even threw a big stone at the car, which nearly hit his child.

Kevin was then detained for one night for attempted child abduction. He was released the next day, because a judge realized that Kevin was the biological father and he still had parental rights. However, little Tyler remained in the care of the Norwegian child welfare office. For the time being the parents still had the right to visit and occasionally see Tyler – in a police station behind double-locked doors. But, a year later the visitation rights were cancelled. The authorities saw a potential abduction risk as Amy is an American citizen and they didn’t want her to take Tyler to America. In the following court trials this was also the main argument for removing parental rights from both her and Kevin. On September 22, 2014, Amy saw her son for the last time. Up to now both she and Kevin don’t know where Tyler is and how he is doing.

In order to hide the child’s new whereabouts, the authorities changed Tyler’s name twice. At the age of four years old, Tyler already had three different names. And, why did this happen? The Norwegian Child Welfare Services stated that they acted only in the Child’s best interest. But, how can such traumatic experiences serve the best interests of a child at such a young age? Especially, in the first years of life, the love and affection of the biological mother are known to be of great importance for the healthy development of a child.

Meanwhile, Amy has gone through all legal options in Norway to get her son back. In the spring of 2016, the case was rejected by the Norwegian Supreme Court. But, Amy doesn’t want to give up. Through a Christian initiative in Vienna / Austria, Amy was able to get in contact with international lawyers. They looked at her case documents, discovered Human Rights violations and helped her to file the case to the European Court of Human Rights. Also, the Christian initiative in Vienna showed further interest in the case. They launched a campaign on Facebook in order to raise awareness for Amy. They challenged people to post a selfie of themselves holding a poster which stated, “Norway, return Tyler to Amy”.

It is still uncertain how the case of Amy J. will end up. Once again, a family in Norway was torn apart for no good reason. Once again, a child in Norway was sentenced to extreme traumatic experiences. And again, we are supposed to believe that it served the welfare of the child. After the many worldwide protests and media reports, the government in Norway has repeatedly stated that it wants to look more closely into their child care system. But, so far Norway clearly fails to implement anything.

My comment: Amy’s is one of the three cases I am following in “Recent Accounts of Children Taken” at the top of this blog. Her story is bizarre yet, she is not unlike so many others in Norway.
I have known Bjorn for awhile now. I respect his continued efforts to help families like Amy’s.

Eugene Lukjanenko is in Prison

December 2, 2017

Eugene is a loving father trying to do a good job of raising his son and his “reward” is eight months of prison in England.  I guess he’s similar to John Bunyan of The Pilgrim’s Progress in that regard.

Both men wound up in English prisons for moral convictions.  Mr. Bunyan wouldn’t stop his open air preaching and Mr. Lukjanenko cannot live comfortably after his son was stolen from him by the British S.S. (Social services).

It is an amazing though not uncommon story these days.  One of the reasons Eugene’s son was taken from him the second time (yes, there was a first time and his son was returned) is that Eugene’s Father was imprisoned in a concentration camp in WWII.

Bizarre.

The reason he is in prison now is because Eugene continued to try and make his case via social media and the English judge wouldn’t tolerate that any longer.

I guess the judge is trying to quiet this man.  As I see it, the judge will fail in this endeavor as I have been watching the well known Russian pianist make his case for months now.

He has been threatened with prison many times because he has done everything legally possible to see his son.  And there was that time he climbed on the roof of some “important” building to share his story via his mighty bullhorn.  I give him bonus points for creativity, that’s for sure.

I’ve lost track of how many hunger strikes Eugene has been on.

Eugene is aware of the effects social media had on a similar case in Norway.  The case got publicity around the world and the family was finally reunited and has fled Norway to be able to raise their children in peace.  Social media had a huge impact on spreading that story and Eugene hopes his case will get the same kind of attention.  The Norwegian “Child Protective Services” attempted to split up a very nice family, the Bodnarius, completely.  Each child was to be sent to live in a different foster home.  If you live in Norway (and apparently the U.K.), the threat of having your child taken from you for little reason is something many citizens fear.  Parents from Norway have been living under this fear of such inhumanity for years. How do I know this? I know this because they’ve told me.

In case you didn’t know, this problem is a common occurrence in the U.K., Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and the U.S. to name a few.  Where I live in the U.S, reunification is usually the goal when a parent is separated from a child by the Child Protective Services.  Sadly, this is not always the case in all of America.  Americans seem to have better chances of getting their child back if they follow all requests of them, however, than the countries I’ve listed.  It is a very sad situation.

I have sent Eugene two emails.  My guess is, because so many know of his case now, that he is getting a good amount of mail.  I will put a link at the bottom of this post if anyone wants to communicate with Eugene.

The above video, in it’s original form, was part of the reason Eugene’s son was taken a second time. All one can see of Eugene’s son is him playing the piano a bit.

If you wish to know more about this situation, you can click on the link at the top of this page called “Recent Accounts of Children Taken” where I’m following three tragic stories. If you scroll down, you will see that Eugene’s is the second situation I am following. Or, if you have facebook, you can check out Eugene’s FB page. Just type his name in the FB search as it appears in the title above.

To send Eugene an email, this site is the one I’m using and it seems to be working ok for now:

http://emailaprisoner.com/

Emails cost 40p and you need to add £5 minimum on the account. Its very easy to set up and all you need is his name and prison number.

If you want to send a note to encourage Eugene Lukjanenko, all you need is:

1) His name
2) His prisoner number which is A6309EC
3) The prison (which is on a scroll down). It is ELMLEY.

If nothing else, please keep Eugene and his son in your prayers.

Corrupt practices disguised as child-welfare campaigns
