Deborah Ann’s poem reminds me of Romans 8:28. Sometimes we find out why we go through a certain “season” and sometimes we never find out this side of heaven. So…
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.”
-Proverbs 3
These are my “go to” verses when I can’t figure it out.
I am to “lean not on my own understanding.”
Deborah Ann’s poems bring me back to important basics time and time again.
“I got me this thing” just like Deborah Ann. She puts this thing in perspective according to God’s Word. I hope this poem blesses you like it blessed me.
A Mother used to quote this verse every morning to her God. She would quote it out loud and usually her children could hear her. You can imagine how some of the children reacted to it in their teen years. She was not deterred.
Many years later, her children have grown and have fond memories of their Mother’s faith. The Mother is now in the later years of her life and she keeps the same attitude of rejoicing. I am thankful that I have such a Mother. She has helped so many people sing a song of rejoicing as they go about their daily lives. – CR
Thank you for sharing a memorable verse, Deborah Ann.
This is the first time that I’ve ever used two of Deborah Ann’s poems back to back. Her words are based on scripture, scripture that holds many promises. This is why I appreciate Deborah’s poems so much.
Here is another poem by Deborah Ann that has blessed me. Our lives are full of hurry and worry in our modern era. What better cure than to turn to God’s Word for help? He is, indeed, a help in times of trouble.
There was a seven-day Social Media Protest with which I was involved. The protest was to be peaceful and the goal was to get information from the politicians in Norway about their thoughts on the child care system (the Barnevernet) there. Hundreds of voices worldwide joined the questioning. Most of it was done in a truthful manner. There are always going to be a few who get carried away.
The intention was to get answers for the Norwegian people. Of the political parties in Norway, the leaders of the protest choose 12. As I was only commenting on 4 or 5 of the party websites, I don’t know for sure. But it was my impression that not one political party was willing to make a statement about the Child Care System in Norway over social media. If you looked at the link above, we got one good response. It was from the Prime Minister of Norway, Erna Solberg. After she commented, a large number of protesters went to her site to make valid complaints, ask questions, and a few went to cause trouble. The result was that the Prime Minister’s site was shut down for a bit and the entire conversation was removed.
I wish that hadn’t happened. So many people voiced valid concerns about the welfare of the children in Norway. If you would like to know my blogging friend Chris Prunean’s take on the events, click on the link above.
Because the post got erased, I can’t tell you who posted it. I can tell you that this video explains a problem that C.S. Lewis saw in his life and that has increased greatly in our time.
It was necessary to write a Letter to Ms. Solveig Horne, Norwegian Minister of Children and Equality this week as my response to the reunification of the Bodnariu family in Norway. This is a start but the story is far from over. It is a joyful event that a family will get to live together again.
You should really read Deborah Ann’s “Worth My Pursuing ~” What is a week without at least one poem from Deborah Ann?
Here is a story you don’t want to miss. It is sad but one you should know about. It is the truth of what is happening in many places in Europe: Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and the U.K. besides Norway.
There is truth in this poem by Deborah Ann. I had more than one of her poems to choose from this week and for some reason this one was chosen. You really should check out the rest of her work here: https://poetrybydeborahann.wordpress.com/ It is done to the glory of God.
Deborah Ann always shares scripture after her poems. She is inspired by God’s Word, can there be anything greater? This poem was particularly helpful to me today. I hope it has the same effect on you.
Spring is here and the butterflies are beginning to flutter signs of creation all over the Northern Hemisphere. The Wings of the Wind and its editor had an interesting week. On the blogging front:
Divine Sovereignty by Steven J Lawson is another theologically correct article which can be found on Sherryn’s blog, “The Narrowing Path.” It is an easy to read article about a deep subject.
American College of Pediatricians Slams Transgender Agenda in Children is an article from Dr. Chris Prunean’s Blog “Delight In Truth.” You will certainly not find this interesting article about the transgender subject anywhere in the mainstream media. “Why not?” is the question I have.

I’ve been to Jim’s blog several times in the past. From this article, we appear like minded in the most important ways. I may have to try to get my hands on a copy of this now as Dan C. is reading it and, as it appears it may have some information on the “Downgrade controversy” in Spurgeon’s day of which I am not aware, I am curious.
On Tranquil Seas ~ is Deborah Ann’s poem I chose to publish this week. This was a much needed drink at an oasis along my journey this week. God’s Word is, of course, my primary source of strength, but Deborah Ann’s Words are based on scripture.
This was the favorite verse of a college friend who went on to become a pastor.

On the substitute front, I was fortunate to spend 4 of my 5 days at Fountain Lake. I enjoyed it all, from 2nd grade on up. I got to go on the annual trip to Blakely Dam that the 4th graders have been taking for years. The 5th day I was a spanish teacher at Park Elementary. I welcomed the students with my limited knowledge of Spanish: “Buenos Dias.”
The joke of the week comes from Clayton:
“What do you call a speaker without speak?”

The Season’s of Life ~
October 21, 2016The season’s of life,
blow in like the wind
some are slow-moving
others like a whirlwind.
But, I have found,
no matter the season
whatever blows my way
God has for it, a reason.
The season’s of life,
have their highs and lows
the cause behind them
only God really knows.
But, I have found,
seasons are a blessing
urging me into the goal
to just keep pressing.
The season’s of life,
blow in and out
some like a whisper
others with a shout.
But, I have found,
each season sent to me
keeps me trusting God
for what I cannot see!
~~~~~~~~
Ecclesiastes 3:1
” To every thing
there is a season,
and a time to
every purpose
under the heaven:
