There was a seven-day Social Media Protest with which I was involved. The protest was to be peaceful and the goal was to get information from the politicians in Norway about their thoughts on the child care system (the Barnevernet) there. Hundreds of voices worldwide joined the questioning. Most of it was done in a truthful manner. There are always going to be a few who get carried away.
The intention was to get answers for the Norwegian people. Of the political parties in Norway, the leaders of the protest choose 12. As I was only commenting on 4 or 5 of the party websites, I don’t know for sure. But it was my impression that not one political party was willing to make a statement about the Child Care System in Norway over social media. If you looked at the link above, we got one good response. It was from the Prime Minister of Norway, Erna Solberg. After she commented, a large number of protesters went to her site to make valid complaints, ask questions, and a few went to cause trouble. The result was that the Prime Minister’s site was shut down for a bit and the entire conversation was removed.
I wish that hadn’t happened. So many people voiced valid concerns about the welfare of the children in Norway. If you would like to know my blogging friend Chris Prunean’s take on the events, click on the link above.
It was necessary to write a Letter to Ms. Solveig Horne, Norwegian Minister of Children and Equality this week as my response to the reunification of the Bodnariu family in Norway. This is a start but the story is far from over. It is a joyful event that a family will get to live together again.
Here is a story you don’t want to miss. It is sad but one you should know about. It is the truth of what is happening in many places in Europe: Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and the U.K. besides Norway.
Here is some great advise for all of us to remember. If you are not following Dan’s instructions, which only mirror God’s Word, you should read this. He includes a quote from my favorite preacher of all time. Go C.H.S.!!! CR
“And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. – 2 Peter 1:19-20 (Emphasis mine)
The above passages can refer to the words of the Prophet of God not being of his own invention, or that the interpretation of Scripture is not just a matter of one’s own imaginings. These words are also not saying individuals aren’t to read and study the Bible for themselves but instead rely on an special ‘Church’ body to tell them what it means. We are all exhorted to ‘study to show ourselves approved’ (2 Tim 2:15)
I clearly remember a time when we frequently attended small group Bible studies…
Spring is here and the butterflies are beginning to flutter signs of creation all over the Northern Hemisphere. The Wings of the Wind and its editor had an interesting week. On the blogging front:
American College of Pediatricians Slams Transgender Agenda in Children is an article from Dr. Chris Prunean’s Blog “Delight In Truth.” You will certainly not find this interesting article about the transgender subject anywhere in the mainstream media. “Why not?” is the question I have.
Review: Ashamed of the Gospel, by John MacArthur I’ve been to Jim’s blog several times in the past. From this article, we appear like minded in the most important ways. I may have to try to get my hands on a copy of this now as Dan C. is reading it and, as it appears it may have some information on the “Downgrade controversy” in Spurgeon’s day of which I am not aware, I am curious.
On Tranquil Seas ~ is Deborah Ann’s poem I chose to publish this week. This was a much needed drink at an oasis along my journey this week. God’s Word is, of course, my primary source of strength, but Deborah Ann’s Words are based on scripture. This was the favorite verse of a college friend who went on to become a pastor.
On the substitute front, I was fortunate to spend 4 of my 5 days at Fountain Lake. I enjoyed it all, from 2nd grade on up. I got to go on the annual trip to Blakely Dam that the 4th graders have been taking for years. The 5th day I was a spanish teacher at Park Elementary. I welcomed the students with my limited knowledge of Spanish: “Buenos Dias.”
The joke of the week comes from Clayton:
“What do you call a speaker without speak?”
“er”
May the God, our Creator and the Creator of Heaven and Earth, bless your week.
This is Rob Barkman from Settled in Truth Ministries. His teachings have been wonderful to this point and I think he makes a good exegesis here.
I think daily about these words of Jesus: “Apart from Me you can do nothing.” I am a dependent man who needs God’s strength. The older I get the more simple my prayers to my Friend become. They are specific, non-repetitive (at the time), and sometimes painful.
My best example always answers them one way or another.
THE TRUTH ABOUT THE CONSTITUTION is a timely piece about revisionism. Thank you for posting this, Manny. We all need to read all of it.
The Dangerously Influential Gospel of Tim Keller is important information in this era of wolves among the flock. Sherryn has posted information about a false teacher that many know of. Interestingly, Keller wrote the forward to the recent biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
This Light of Mine ~ is a Christian poem by Deborah Ann Belka. No week would be complete without reading something from Deborah Ann.
Some good times were had with the kids this week. Got to help the Special Ed kids at Fountain Lake on Field Day. We got wet, we jumped in the bounce houses, we enjoyed the sunshine.
If you have any questions about false teachers in today’s world, one of the best places to go is my friend Sherryn’s “The Narrowing Path” blog. Here is only one of the excellent articles found on her front page. You will always find her blog listed in my blogroll.
There are some very serious issues raised here about Dr Keller, whose recent teachings, and practices within his church, are increasingly difficult to defend in light of the Scriptures. I am saddened to see yet another minister leave the narrow path and head down the emergent road to Rome. It is all the more serious when it is someone so influential in conservative circles.
Keller openly admits that his account of theistic evolution is confused. And because he realises that there are insurmountable difficulties with his theistic evolution theory he says that he prefers…
Although the Pre-Trib view is diminishing in popularity, it is alive and well. I am not dogmatic on the subject. I have posted this because I think it would be interesting even to those who don’t agree with JD’s Pre-Trib position. Israel is facing resistance from many different forces. This I believe is an indication that the Second Coming of Jesus is near. CR
I have listened to John and have never really gotten his take on a position regarding the rapture. He does a prophecy update weekly because, like JD Farag (and me), we are watching as Jesus asked us to do. CR
1 Hear, O sons, the instruction of a father, And give attention that you may [a]gain understanding, 2 For I give you [b]sound teaching; Do not abandon my [c]instruction. 3 When I was a son to my father, Tender and the only son in the sight of my mother, 4 Then he taught me and said to me, “Let your heart hold fast my words; Keep my commandments and live; 5 Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding! Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth. 6 “Do not forsake her, and she will guard you; Love her, and she will watch over you. 7 “The [d]beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom; And with all your acquiring, get understanding. 8 “Prize her, and she will exalt you; She will honor you if you embrace her. 9 “She will place on your head a garland of grace; She will present you with a crown of beauty.” 10 Hear, my son, and accept my sayings And the years of your life will be many. 11 I have directed you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in upright paths. 12 When you walk, your steps will not be impeded; And if you run, you will not stumble. 13 Take hold of instruction; do not let go. Guard her, for she is your life. 14 Do not enter the path of the wicked And do not proceed in the way of evil men. 15 Avoid it, do not pass by it; Turn away from it and pass on. 16 For they cannot sleep unless they do evil; And [e]they are robbed of sleep unless they make someone stumble. 17 For they eat the bread of wickedness And drink the wine of violence. 18 But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until the full day. 19 The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know over what they [f]stumble. 20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. 22 For they are life to those who find them And health to all [g]their body. 23 Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. 24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth And put devious [h]speech far from you. 25 Let your eyes look directly ahead And let your [i]gaze be fixed straight in front of you. 26 Watch the path of your feet And all your ways will be established. 27 Do not turn to the right nor to the left; Turn your foot from evil.

Waiting For the Word’s commentary:
GOD the FATHER Throughout Jesus’ ministry he talked about doing the will of the Father. He said that he was going to the Father and he wanted us to be there as well. Jesus said that he and the Father are one: “If you have known Me then you have also known the Father.” The four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John include many references to the Father and Jesus’ relationship with his Father as well as their desire for us to be part of God’s family in heaven.
Obedience to the Father was the one desire of the Lord Jesus Christ. And if this was His primary goal and purpose, then obedience is most certainly a necessary and essential part of our relationship with God as well.
This scripture from proverbs 4 needs to be read today. There are many reasons why. I bet you can think of 5 good reasons in less than a minute.
Through the years I’ve been an on again, off again reader of Christianity Today, often referred to these days as Christianity ‘Astray’. A few years ago I tried another subscription that gave me hard copy and online versions because id seemed like a good deal and after all, there was an occasional article that still contained sound doctrine. When my last renewal came around I opted for just the online version from which it was easier to extract information and save it in digital format for future reference. This week I received my May edition and if I could get a partial refund of the remaining issues due me I would – trust me. Here is a sampling of what CT had to offer:

What did lizards look like when they crawled around dinosaur feet? Newly described lizards encased in Burmese ambers clearly show the answer.
Publishing online in Science Advances, a team of zoologists recognized familiar lizard forms in a dozen amber-encased specimens.1 A few preserve almost whole lizard bodies, most merely contain body parts, but they all confirm biblical creation in several different ways.
Amber forms when resins—not sap—flow from damaged trees. The resin hardens within hours, like scabs, to help heal the tree’s wounds. The resins sometimes flow fast enough to occasionally entomb little creatures, and harden fast enough to preserve them before they’re eaten or have time to rot.
Secular scientists assigned an age of 99 million years to these Burmese amber deposits. But the encased organisms show no evidence for evolution between creature kinds. Instead, the dozen lizards fall neatly into five modern lizard categories. For example, the researchers found life-like modern geckos and even identified a tiny chameleon fossil.
It seems to me that there is a good amount of evidence that the Biblical view of Creation is logically correct. I believe the Bible account is the correct account.

WEEKLY WRAP-UP FOR 2016-6-4
June 5, 2016HERE IS THE REASON THERE WAS NO WEEKLY WRAP-UP LAST WEEK.
